This project gives an in depth look at cryptocurrency, specifically the two most popular coins, Bitcoin and Ethereum. The aim of this project is to give the reader a greater understanding of what cryptocurrency is and the way it works. This project begins with an environmental scan of the field of cryptocurrency to gain a better idea of the research that has already been done. I will then use this research and further build on it. By conducting surveys I was able to gain an understanding of people’s knowledge of cryptocurrency. It is clear from these surveys that the general understanding of cryptocurrency is quite low in people of an older age. It has also shown that people with a technology background, whether it be a career, course or hobby, have a greater understanding than those who do not. With the surveys showing the variations in the knowledge of cryptocurrency among different groups, the focus is then turned to making the information more intelligible for all users. To do this, I used digital tools to present certain information more aesthetically. For example, information like the history of Bitcoin and Ethereum, and comparisons in the cryptocurrency market are displayed using different digital tools to make the learning experience more pleasant and understandable. These digital artefacts and a summary of my project are then presented on the stobrn.com website that I have made, along with added information to educate readers on the crypto market as this could be very beneficial for people in the future.
